About IAGRG
A national scientific body dedicated to advancing research, collaboration, and education in gravitation, cosmology, relativity, and allied areas of physics.
Who We Are
The Indian Association for General Relativity and Gravitation (IAGRG) brings together researchers, educators, and students engaged in the study of gravity and spacetime. It serves as a common platform for scientific exchange, community building, and the advancement of gravitational science in India.
History & Mission
In February 1969, Indian relativists met in Ahmedabad to honour Professor V. V. Narlikar. During this meeting, Professor P. C. Vaidya proposed the formation of a society of Indian relativists, leading to the birth of IAGRG, with Professor V. V. Narlikar as Founder President.
The mission of IAGRG is to promote interest in gravitation and support research, dialogue, and scientific development in related areas.
Our Community
IAGRG consists of faculty members, researchers, students, and academic institutions contributing to gravity science across India. The Association supports scientific meetings, mentoring, and long-term collaboration within the community.
